INI-SS Results Cut off
The Institute of National Importance Super-Speciality (INI-SS) examination is conducted in two stages.
At Stage I, the computer-based test, applicants must obtain a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for other admission procedures. Stage I scores are exclusively used for non-AIIMS institutions like NIMHANS, JIPMER, and SCTIMST admissions.
The selection process for AIIMS and PGIMER, Chandigarh, also has Stage II, a departmental test. Only those candidates who obtain 50% or more marks in Stage I qualify for Stage II. The practical or lab-based test accounts for 20 extra marks in the final appraisal. The departmental assessment for stage II was conducted through video conferencing.
The final cut-off is arrived at by aggregating the scores of both stages wherever applicable. A candidate must attain a minimum of 50% marks for the overall qualification when Stage I and Stage II are combined. Candidates who get 50% in Stage I but do not reach the 50% mark in the final total are not considered qualified.
According to the tie-breaking rule, the older candidate is given preference if two candidates obtain the same score.
INI-SS Merit Lists
After the INI-SS examination is conducted, two merit lists are announced. Both the merit lists were released on 14th June, 2025:
- Common Merit List (CML)
The first merit list is the Common Merit List (CML), which contains a list of all candidates who qualified for stage I of the examination as per the scoring scheme. Every qualified candidate is assigned a rank. The list is based on this rank and the candidates’ overall performance.
In this merit list, participants can view their CML rank, roll numbers, and theory marks out of 80, as well as their eligibility for online seat allocation at NIMHANS, JIPMER, and SCTIMST. The standard merit list is applicable for all participating institutions except for AIIMS and PGIMER, for which the AIIMS merit list is considered.
- AIIMS Merit List (AML)
The AIIMS Merit List (AML) is for those candidates who have opted for AIIMS or PGIMER, Chandigarh. These candidates should have also successfully qualified for stage I and stage II examinations, with 100 marks (80 in stage I and 20 in stage II).
Qualified candidates are ranked according to their overall scores. The merit list comprises the overall AML rank of the candidates in their selected course, their roll numbers, total marks, and whether they have qualified for AIIMS or PGIMER.
What’s after INI-SS Results?

INI-SS Couselling Process
The open round seat allocation result for INI-SS 2025 July session counselling has been released online. AIIMS published the result PDF on August 22, 2025, which candidates can download directly from the official website.
The counselling process of INI-SS includes three rounds of seat allotment. Through counselling, candidates can select multiple seats according to their preference. The final allotment is subject to three main factors: the choice of the candidate, the rank of the candidate in INI-SS, and available seats. AIIMS releases a separate seat allotment list in PDF form in each round.
Seat allotment is done based on the preferences completed (institution and course), the AIIMS Merit List (AML), the Common Merit List (CML), and all-around performance in the entrance examination.
For candidates allotted a seat in Round 1, two options are available after logging in to the portal:
- Option 1: Accept & Exit: Secure the allotted seat and opt out of further counselling rounds.
- Option 2: Accept & Continue: Retain the allotted seat while staying eligible for an upgrade in the next round.
