FMGE June Session

Indian citizens or overseas Indian citizens with an MBBS degree from any medical institution outside India need to appear for the FMGE exam to be eligible for permanent registration with the MCI (Medical Council of India). The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) has been mandatory after 15th March 2002 as per the Screening Test Regulations 2002.

How to Fill Out the Application Form for FMGE June 2026?

Filling out the FMGE application form requires you to create your ID and password in the FMGE section on the official NBE website, upload your documents, select the preferred exam centres, and then make the payment.  

Candidates can fill out the FMGE application form 2026 online from the official website of NBE. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE (www.natboard.edu.in) and locate the FMGE section.

Step 2: Use your email ID and mobile number to register yourself and get your ID and password via email.

Step 3: Use your ID and password to log in and fill in your details like name, contact number, date of birth, educational information, etc. 

Step 4: Upload the scanned copies of your ID proof, such as passport, PAN, Aadhaar card, etc., passport-size photographs, signature, certificate of MBBS or equivalent, internship, and eligibility certificate. 

Step 5: Select the exam centre from the list of cities available. Allotment of exam seats is done on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Step 6: Next, pay the FMGE application fee using your preferred payment method, such as net banking, credit, or debit card, etc. The expected fees can be INR 6,195 (INR 5,200+ Step 18% GST).

Step 7: Review all the information carefully and submit the FMGE form. Download the submission page and take a printout for future reference.

Step 8: A correction period is provided by NBE so that candidates can fix issues such as spelling of name, photo or signature errors, etc. However, this is for minor issues only; you cannot change details related to qualifications or nationality.

Who Can Apply for FMGE June 2026?

Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India with an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification can apply for FMGE 2026. They should complete the necessary clinical rotations, medical courses, internships, etc., within the date specified by NBE. 

The following candidates are eligible for the FMGE application 2026:

  • An Indian citizen or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) can apply for FMGE 2026
  • Candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification from a recognised foreign medical university that is listed in the WDOMS (World Directory of Medical Schools)
  • Candidates should complete their medical course, internship, and clinical rotations before the NBE-specified date.
  • Documents such as the NMC-issued eligibility certificate, provisional certificate, original medical degree, proof of nationality, and a valid passport must be produced. If they qualify from a non-recognised institution, candidates need to produce an equivalence certificate. 

Note: Candidates who are licensed to practice medicine in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand are exempt from the FMGE and may apply straight for NMC registration.
