What Happens after Round One of NEET SS 2026 Counselling?

After the Round One results, candidates have three options: (1) Accept the seat and join the college (exiting further rounds), (2) Accept the seat but opt for upgradation in Round Two, or (3) Choose a free exit, which forfeits the security deposit but allows re-registration for Round Two.

Candidates will be required to follow any of the steps below according to their status:

  1. A candidate who secures a seat during round one of NEET SS counselling and is satisfied with it can proceed directly to the college with the necessary documents for admission. Such candidates will be excluded from further rounds of NEET SS counselling.
  2. If a candidate is satisfied with the first round of NEET SS 2026 seat allotment but still wants to participate in round two, they can choose to be upgraded. Candidates will have to indicate their wish for up-gradation in the next round of NEET SS counselling 2026.
  3. If a candidate decides not to accept the seat allotted in round one, they can choose the free exit option. However, this will lead to the forfeiture of their security deposit. Such candidates can still participate in round two of NEET SS 2026 counselling, but they will need to complete the registration process again.

NEET SS Counselling 2026 Round Two

Candidates will have to follow the same steps for the second round of NEET SS counselling 2026. Those who wish to participate in the second round of NEET SS 2026 counselling must submit new course and college choices.

Candidates who did not register for round one of NEET SS counselling and those who will choose free exit in round one will have to make a new registration and pay the registration fee.

Those who opt for upgradation in round one are not required to register again for the second round of NEET SS 2026 counselling. If their seat is upgraded in round two, they must obtain a relieving letter from the previously allotted institute and report to the newly allotted college.

If no upgradation occurs, the seat allotted in round one will automatically be retained.

Who is Eligible for Round Two of NEET SS 2026 Counselling?

  • Candidates completing a fresh registration for round two
  • Those who were not allotted any seat in round one
  • Candidates who opted for upgradation after round one
