MCC NEET Counselling Registration Process

The MCC NEET counselling procedure involves eight major steps, which are listed as follows:

Step 1: Seat Matrix Release

MCC releases the NEET UG seat matrix of MBBS and BDS courses of the participating colleges, which displays 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

Step 2: Registration

Candidates must register for MCC NEET 2025 counselling for all rounds except the Stray Vacancy Round. The registration is completely online and involves the submission of personal details, NEET 2025 Roll Number, rank, scores, etc. A non-refundable registration fee and a refundable security deposit must also be paid.

Registration steps:

  • Visit the MCC official website
  • Click on ‘New Registration 2025’.
  • Carefully read instructions
  • Enter compulsory information: NEET UG roll number, parents’ name, birth date, and security code
  • Choose password
  • Credentials will be sent to the registered email
  • Fill up the registration form with personal information, educational information, NEET 2025 result, etc.; upload a scanned photo and signature
  • Pay fees for registration and take a printout of the confirmation page

Step 3: Choice Filling

Registered applicants must select the colleges and courses to which they wish to apply. Once logged in, it is advised to prepare a preliminary preference list before submitting choices online.

Step 4: Choice Locking

Candidates must lock their choices during the specified window. MCC cautions:

“Do not wait until the last minute to lock your choices. Review all submitted options carefully, as once locked, they cannot be modified. Any errors may lead to allotment of an undesired seat.”

Step 5: Verification by Universities & Seat Allotment Processing

Universities check the details of the candidates and the choices they send, after which the outcomes of the seat allotment are received and forwarded to MCC.

Step 6: Seat Allotment Result

MCC publishes a provisional seat allotment outcome, with the option to enable candidates to raise objections when needed. The final allotment list is published subsequently. Candidates can either accept the allotted seat and join the institute or go for an upgrade during the subsequent counselling rounds.

Step 7: Document Upload

After confirming the seat allocation, the candidates have to upload the documents mentioned on the MCC NEET 2025 official website.

Step 8: Institute Reporting

This is the last phase, where candidates go to their assigned institute to have the hard copies checked and to pay the admission fees.

Note: The Stray Vacancy Round is the last round where the seat allotment result is directly released. Registration or choice filling is not applicable in this round.

NEET Choice Filling & Choice Locking Strategy

  1. Choice Filling

Once registration is complete, candidates are required to select the colleges and courses they wish to study. The preferences of the selections should be listed in order of priority, considering both personal choices and realistic expectations.

Although candidates are allowed to enter an unlimited number of choices, it is best to enter them strategically to increase the possibility of securing a desired seat.

  1. Choice Locking Strategy

It is a good idea to prioritise the choices in a top-to-bottom order, with the most preferred colleges in the first position. Applicants must also add feasible reserve choices on the basis of their All India Rank (AIR) so that they can get a list of choices that is both balanced and effective.

The options cannot be changed after they have been locked, and therefore, they should be carefully planned before submitting.
